I have had an affinity for elephants since childhood and had always enjoyed the image of the Hindu God with the human body and elephant's face. On my journey to India and subsequent study of Eastern philosophy, I discovered much about this blissful and lively deity. He is known as the Remover of Obstacles, the Patron of Arts and Sciences, and man's protector and benefactor.
I wanted to show him bestowing grace in unusual places and therefore I depicted Him in various countries.
